SpotlightFormatting video screen object labels

A variety of video screen object labels can be included in the drawing; most of the information in the labels comes from the Object Info palette. If the Object Info palette parameter is blank, the label cannot be selected. Different options are available depending on the video screen object.

To select labels for display and format the text:

Select a video screen object. From the Object Info palette, click Text Options.

The Text Options dialog box opens. Select the labels to display, and choose the label text size, color, and alignment. Change the default label title, if desired. 

Click to show/hide the parametersClick to show/hide the parameters.

Description

Coverage Zone

 

Show coverage zone text

Displays the coverage zone distances and multipliers 

Near/Far Note

Enter any notes for the near/far coverage zone

Only show note(s)

Displays only coverage zone notes text 

Include "Multiplier" and "Distance" zone labels 

Displays multiplier and distance labels in the coverage zone text 

Television Size (Television)

 

Show television size

Displays the size of the television screen

Screen Information (Blended screen, video screen)

 

Show screen dimensions

Displays the screen dimensions. The dimension text order can be changed from the default height x width to width x height instead, by selecting Swap dimension order

Include pixel counts (Blended screen)

Displays the pixel count of the screen image

Show (screen) aspect ratio

Displays the screen aspect ratio 

Show (screen) trim

Displays the screen trim 

Show (screen) clearance

Displays the screen clearance 

Show (screen) weight

Displays the screen weight 

Show Area Overlap (Blended screen)

When areas overlap, show the area as a measurement, pixel count, or percentage

Screen Unit

Displays the screen object unit information

Purpose and Note

Displays the Purpose and Note text

Projector and Lens Information (Video screen)

Select the labels to display: projector information, projector weight, lens throw ratio, and/or lens model

Projection Distance (Video screen)

 

Show straight distance (2D)

Displays the straight (plan) distance in 2D from the projector to the screen

Show direct distance (2D)

Displays the direct distance (projector throw distance) in 2D from the projector to the screen 

Show actual distance (3D)

Displays the actual distance in 3D from the projector to the screen 

Include dimension line(s)

Includes dimension lines for each of the selected distances; specify the Arrow Size and the Extension Line Offset

Projector Unit(s) (Video screen)

 

Projector 1/Projector 2

Displays the Projector 1/Projector 2 unit information 

Multiple Projector Tag (Video screen)

For stacked projectors, indicates that there are multiple projectors

3D Area IDs

 

Show 3D area ID text

In 3D views, adds a numerical ID for each area of the blended screen (each area served by a projector) 

3D Text Block

Displays labels in 3D views (parameters vary by screen type): dimensions, projector information, lens information, projector distance, resolution, trim, purpose, and note

Overall

 

Keep text horizontal

Maintains the text in a horizontal position even when the screen object is rotated; deselect this option to rotate the label along with the object

Fill text background

Allows a text background fill to be used for all video screen text; by default, white is used as the fill color. To specify a different fill color, click Classes in the Object Info palette, and then select a fill color for the class of the screen text. The class should be set to Use at Creation.

Specify the text labels and formatting.

Once the labels have been added to the drawing, they can be moved by clicking and dragging the label control point. Click Default Text Positions from the Object Info palette of a selected video object to restore the labels to their original locations.
